  triggering content ahead !   resident evil is a horror series & i don't shy away from discussing its themes nor it's political messaging, these include : eugenics, body/medical horror, fictionalized/real-life war crimes, gore & ( for ada specifically ) gender-based violence, smoking, illicit drug use & unreality .

  001.          this is an independent, private & fairly selective roleplay blog for ada wong of capcon's resident evil franchise . written by nadiya, hey ! that's me, i am a 28 year old transgender lesbian, originally from romania & currently working abroad in denmark . i like to imagine i am fairly open & approachable so my ims & discord are always open for mutuals should you want to plot or chat !my activity tends to be very sporadic dependent on my mental health & work schedule & i am sorry if i disappear off the dash for a while, i tend to lurk regardless & i'm always around on discord when i'm not working or otherwise indisposed !  002.      my portrayal of ada wong is drawn from both the original games & their remakes ( i prefer ada's characterization in re2r but i rely on ada's history spying on umbrella / while i enjoy lily gao's performance in re4r & ada's character, the remake omits a lot of context from ada's report + re4's guidebook that is integral to my portrayal ) along with ada's other canonical appearances, including in-game files & supplemental material, briefly explained here .i am not remake exclusive & very familiar with the overarching lore of the resident evil franchise & i'm always happy to help familiarize others with re's labyrinthine storyline ! as ada, like most of the franchise's main cast, doesn't have a canonical backstory or life outside bioterror, i rely heavily on headcanon to fill in those blanks, with inferences from the series & inspiration from the new wave movement of hong kong cinema .a lot of my own research has gone into developing ada's background as a chinese woman, but i am white & don't claim to be an expert in cultures not my own, so if any of my ideas are harmful or disrespectful i am open to critique .some information in ada's dossier is spoilered for aesthetic reasons & can be revealed by highlighting the text or clicking it » like this :) !  003.       i am not a fan of ada's oversexualization within the games nor in the fandom, i think she is character written to be subversive of the femme fatale archetype & i have no interest playing into any of its associated tropes uncritically, despite capcom having its cake & eating it too . the goal of my portrayal has always been to develop ada beyond her role as a side-character in resident evil media starring leon s. kennedy .while i'm always excited to write out her dynamic with leon & iterate upon it, i struggle to view their relationship as either romantic or sexual & i'm not a fan of the accepted fanon that views it as more intense than portrayed canonically & somehow less complex . i'm fairly critical of the ship & you can find a summation of my thoughts on it here . obviously i don't think it's problematic or anything, i just dislike it .

  004.     resident evil references/takes inspiration from a lot of real world events in its worldbuilding ( e.g. the spencer mansion & villa schuster, a secret cia prison / 9/11 & america's subsequent war on terror ) & this blog will occasionally discuss the underlying political/anti-american themes of the franchise . it is a major area of interest of mine as i have a degree in international relations & i'll try to broach these topics respectfully, to the best of my abilities .  005.         while i'm always interested in potential crossovers with other horror franchises, i don't see any potential in dead by daylight as a setting, nor any point in writing circular threads about fixing generators while playing hide & seek with killers . i know there's some lore attached to the world but it hasn't captured me & i've barely played the game regardless, sorry .  006.    shipping is not my priority but i am open to it based on chemistry . i write ada as the world's worst lesbian & any potential romantic/sexual dynamic will require some plotting to get off the ground . ada usually flirts to mock or to distract, it's never an attempt to force a ship . that said, always feel free to message me ooc if you see a potential spark in our threads !  007.     quickfire round of general rules : no god-modding, this blog only writes with mutuals, any nsfw content will be kept under a read-more & tagged, i prefer plotted threads & writers i click with ooc but this isn't always a prerequisite .i don't personally have any triggers but if you need anything specific tagged ( beyond what has already been mentioned ) let me know !while i don't believe that callout culture is a death defying community issue, general tumblr mob mentality & the habit of jumping to conclusions without first engaging in private conversation does get on my nerves . if you engage in behavior that is in any way bigoted or fetishistic of topics such as rape & incest do not follow me .

     brief summary             ada wong is a woman from british hong kong who purposefully entangled herself in the conspiracy of umbrella's rise to power at a very young age out of idealized & romanticized notions of spywork,    losing her sense of self-identity to the raccoon city incident & to her chosen profession,    giving up her past in pursuit of a fantasy concocted from rumors of her miraculous survival .a spy without equal    /    a woman with no heart,    able to survive any assignment without so much as a scratch,    her corpse dragged out of raccoon city through sheer force of will .every new mission another piece lost,    feelings & morals implanted on discarded identities who she interprets as women separate from herself,    death as erasure,    their sacrifice always a necessity, forever readying herself to place a new veil over an emptying shell .with a background in acting & cantonese opera, she sees herself as a trained actress playing roles in a narrative,    the events which unfold as a stage play that service her expanding sense of unreality . she often refers to herself & other people as cast & crew,    pawns in a larger,    more dangerous game she plans to win .

     a note on crossovers         i'm always open to sticking ada into new settings    sans dead by daylight,    but i only do so for media i'm decently familiar with .    i usually prefer expanding on resident evil's worldbuilding & ada's role in the franchise,    which is why my selection of alternate verses is fairly limited .

     1998 — resident evil 2         covers ada's activities as a spy placed within umbrella's arklay & nest facilities .    the leadup to,    events & fallout of the racoon city incident,    with a focus on her time at nest as a research assistant under william & annette birkin & ada's life in raccoon city .    her nights spent helping build up jill valentine's case against umbrella,    a few indiscretions committed with annette & her indulgent trips to the city's chinatown for that little hint of home .     2002 — sacred snakes           acting against albert wesker on behalf of their mutual employer,    the organization,    ada travels to a remote part of south america under the control of javier hidalgo's drug cartel .    playing the role of a male arms broker & representative of a chinese criminal syndicate,    she makes contact with one of javier's lieutenants & uses that connection to deduce wesker's dealings with the drug lord,    offering him proof of umbrella's desperation in exchange for information on their sales turf,    but her cover is blown by wesker & she flees within a week .     2004 — resident evil 4         the crescendo of her time spying on wesker's operations,    ada is sent to a village in the mountains of spain to retrieve a sample of the dominant plaga ( a parasite whose existence she discovered after intercepting an e-mail from researcher luis serra navarro ) after wesker's agent,    jack krauser,    kidnaps the united states president's daughter .    ada tips off the americans to the girl's location & with their agent serving as a distraction,    she sets up events so that she emerges the victor,    plaga sample in hand .

     au — uncharted           disgraced former hong kong actress ada wong turns to a life of crime in an effort to fill a hole left by minor fame with stolen artefacts & precious jewelry . a proficient cat burglar with taste only for the rarest gems & riskiest jobs who often crosses paths with treasure hunters & mercenaries looking for the same score, but never the same thrill .     au — baldur's gate 3          adelaide vephili ( an alias among many used by an arcane trickster rogue & mephistopheles tiefling ) was an information broker & spy who navigated the whims of baldur gate's rich upper crust under the guise of a locally popular stage actress & socialite, sometimes a muse, only for the privilege of having a ear to the schemes & desires of those who've made her early life akin to the hells of her ancestry .

     2011 — resident evil: damnation           on behalf of a mysterious client,    an overconfident spy sets foot in the war-torn eastern slav republic to destroy president svetlana belikova's plaga cultivation program & collect a sample of her newly developed plaga type .    she infiltrates the presidential palace posing as a bsaa representative,    using her primary alias out of pure hubris .    while her cover is easily blown,    it coincidences with an assault on the palace by a rebel militia which forces svetlana to seek refuge in her secret facilities,    where ada triggers the self-destruct,    escaping in the confusion,    mission accomplished .     2013 — resident evil 6           while keeping tabs on the family,    ada is contacted by an old employer & sent to investigate his private research across both america & china .    project ada,    a decade long experiment on over twelve thousand women utilizing carla radames' chrysalid virus to recreate a perfect copy of ada wong culminates in carla as the final test subject & a plan to destroy the world as one woman's last desperate plea for vengeance .    ada is pulled into carla's machinations & confronts her mirror image while the BSAA believes her the culprit,    before ensuring derek c. simmons breathes his last .    ada vanishing into mystery soon after .     2021 — resident evil: village           the legend of an old crow & a village under its watch,    a father with iron on his tongue & the four lords that stand between him & his daughter .    this verse tries to organically reinsert ada into re8's narrative,    you can find a detailed explanation here .

     au — the witcher         a sorceress from a distant land who came to the continent for both business & pleasure,    ada possesses a propensity for illusion magic unlike any other .    she hides among the high courts of kings & queens alike who pay her in information for the grace of her presence .    she is a one woman show & very proud of it,    her vanity a weakness that always gets her in trouble .     au — cyberpunk 2077                      a taiwanese netrunner associated with kang tao,    ada is an intelligence operative that was never satisfied serving one corporation among many .    though she finds night city's streets to be far too deadly for her tastes,    she can play fixers & edgerunners alike & she keeps her ear to the ground for any information worth selling,    a nail in the coffin of arasaka for which she'll pay any price .
